Slalom, a close second to Japan in the Grand Prix de Paris, was ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Andre Fabre had been planning on accepting the straight back to ParisLongchamp for a crack at Permit.
Given Japan has beaten at Crystal Ocean at the Juddmonte International at York he’d have been well worth his position in the line-up.
He is on the sidelines.
Fabre explained:”Slalom has had a drawback, sadly.
“Sadly he will be out for the rest of the season. It’s a shame, I was anticipating some big races from him.”
No last decision has been made over if the unbeaten Earthlight will have his final start of the season in Britain.
After his victory in a very powerful renewal of the Prix Morny at Deauville, Fabre intimated he’d love to run in the Darley Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket next month, sponsored Sheikh Mohammed, by his owner.
“We have not fully decided yet, we’re waiting to see what occurs with a couple of others,” said Fabre.
